Ritual Zone – VanPPD 2017

At the centre of it all, the Ritual Zone, is dedicated to all kinds of ritual presentations. This space is large and open to accommodate any size of ritual!

It wouldn’t be Pagan Pride without ritual presentations. Each year, Vancouver Pagan Pride opens and closes with ritual in the Ritual Zone.

Schedule and descriptions for rituals planned throughout the day on Saturday, September 9, 2017 are as follows:

10:15 a.m. – Territorial Acknowledgement

Vancouver Pagan Pride would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather and circle today is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

As we start our day of celebration of our community, we would like us all to take a moment to reflect on this and to acknowledge that we bring our beliefs and spirits to this place in concert with those that were here before us and who continue to inhabit this city and land.

Blessed be.

10:20 a.m. – Opening

Join the organizers of Vancouver Pagan Pride Day as we set sacred space and begin the festivities.

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. – Dragon Ritual

Join the Gathering for Life on Earth for a taste of what is in store for the May long weekend. This year the theme is “Dragons and Dragon Lore”. This public ritual will connect participants with water and air dragons to let go of habits that no longer serve us and call in a new way of being.

3:00 – 3:30 p.m. – Connecting with Terra Through Song & Story

This ritual will invite all participants to connect with themselves, each other and the world around us through stories and sung chants acknowledging the four elements, the ancestors, and the goddess and god. Vocal participation is strongly encouraged but not required. Presented by Violet.

TBA – Chanting Circle

Details to come.
